 Widescreen selection in PC game!
I just purchased a 26" WS HDTV flat panel LCD pc/monitor and in the game COD II is the option for setting game to WS at 16:9 or 16:10.
I have tried this setting but no matter what rez I choose the game only plays in full screen. The max rez for the monitor is 1280x1024 which is what I always set my monitor at anyway, and my video cardis a Geforce 6800 pci express x16 with both dvi and vga connections.
I have tried both dvi and vga connection but same result as the game only plays in full screen mode.
Any ideas what is wrong?

1280x1024 is neither 16:9 nor 16:10, it is 4:3.
Isn't full-screen mode what you want? Rather, don't you want the game to fill the full screen?

 Widescreen!
Full screen looks great but I was curious to see it in widscreen format since i do have a widescreen monitor but being the native rez for the monitor is 12x10 i guess i want be sing it in widscreen and would explain why the option does not work.

Re: Widescreen selection in PC game!
Is there any possible way having a PC game run faster and more smoothly by not only changing game graphics? You know how in a PC game you can change the graphics settings to let your gameplay run more smoothly? Well is there any possible way changing settings on your PC to help the game? Im running on Vista. Could things like un-instaling other games help help? Please tell me other ideas. *Dont tell me to upgrade because obviously thats not what im asking.
